Who is responsible

What we receive

You can read the first chapter of each story without giving Scysof an email address. When you purchase through PayPal, we receive the payer contact details, transaction or subscription identifier, purchase details and payment status needed to verify the purchase and email the correct chapter. If you contact us, we receive your message and the information you choose to include. The hosting provider may record technical data such as an IP address, browser details, requested page and time in its server logs.

Scysof does not collect card numbers. PayPal processes payment information under its privacy statement.

Why we use information

We use purchase and contact details to check payment, deliver paid chapters and provide support. This is necessary to perform a purchase or subscription contract. We may use correspondence and technical logs to keep the site secure and resolve delivery problems, based on our legitimate interests in operating the service. We retain records needed for accounting, tax, refunds or disputes where required by law.

Providers and transfers

PayPal handles checkout payments and any previously enrolled subscriptions. Hostinger provides website hosting and the email service used for manual delivery. These providers process data for their own services or on our behalf, and may process it outside the United Kingdom under their applicable terms and safeguards. Our hosting provider may use technical information needed to serve and protect the site. PayPal's checkout components may use cookies or similar technologies; PayPal describes these in its own notices. How long information is kept
